Johannes de Boer

Johannes de Boer, general practitioner

As a general practitioner (GP) I get an intimate look in personal lives. That’s why I believe it’s important for you to feel being taken seriously. I also value that our relationship is based on trust. A clear understanding of your expectations from the GP is also valuable for me. To some of us a mild cough may just disturb a night’s rest, to others it may cause fear of illness. So the same symptoms found with different people demand a unique perspective on the steps solving the problem. That perspective is what I am looking for, so I can adapt my approach to your situation. I take into account your personal circumstances and additional illnesses to come up with a tailored treatment plan. This, to me, is tailor-made healthcare.

I studied at the department of vocational training for general practice at the UvA-AMC, after which I worked as a GP in New Zealand and Amsterdam. As extra specialization, I attend to elderly and palliative care and I am able to perform minor surgical procedures. I can also place intrauterine devices.

Huub van den Hombergh

Huub van den Hombergh, general practitioner

I think it is important to be accessible as a GP. I want my patients to feel that they can discuss everything with me. In this way, a relationship of trust can arise that is so important to me in order to provide good care. Care that is in line with your expectations and experiences. In short; care that is accessible, personal and in consultation with my patients. That is what I stand for.

I also studied at the UvA-AMC. After receiving my diploma in 2008, I worked as an emergency physician at a first aid clinic. After I finished my GP training I worked for a few years as a GP in the Rivierenbuurt in Amsterdam and shortly on Curacao. I specialize in giving traveller’s advice, minor surgical procedures and giving anti-inflammatory injections.
